A Week in Robledillo, Day by Day

The minimum stay is 5 nights in July and 6 in August, so many guests spend a week with us. This is the plan we recommend: alternate a day out with a quiet day, and always come back to the cottage for a barbecue or, in summer, the pool.

Day 1. Robledillo and La Garganta

Arrive and stroll around the village: the fountain in the square, the shoeing frame, the bread oven. If there is time, walk to La Garganta, a small valley with streams about 2 km away. More in Robledillo.

Day 2. Ávila

About 25 minutes away. The walls (you can walk part of the rampart), the cathedral, the Basilica of San Vicente and, at dusk, the view of the city from the Cuatro Postes. More in Ávila.

Day 3. Castro de Ulaca and Villaviciosa

In the morning, climb up to the Castro de Ulaca, the great Vettonian hill town of the valley: bring walking shoes and water. Afterwards, visit Villaviciosa castle, a few minutes away.

Day 4. Sierra de Gredos

Hoyos del Espino, the park visitor centre and the Plataforma de Gredos. Keen walkers can hike up to the Laguna Grande, about 15 km return. More in Sierra de Gredos and hiking routes in Gredos.

Day 5. A day at the cottage

Take it easy: a morning at the swimming pool (in summer), lunch on the patio and an afternoon of games or by the fire, depending on the season.

Day 6. Tiétar valley

Cross the Puerto del Pico pass down to the Cinco Villas: Mombeltrán and its castle, San Esteban del Valle, Cuevas del Valle… about 45 minutes away.

Day 7. Villages of the Amblés Valley

A drive around the valley: Solosancho, Sotalvo, Manqueospese castle in Mironcillo or the painted stones of La Garoza. More in a day trip around the Amblés Valley. And to say goodbye, dinner with Ávila beef.
