All our cottages welcome pets, and the area is great for dogs: oak-pasture tracks, mountains and quiet villages. These are our favourite walks to do together.
From the front door
- La Pisada del Niño: a walk through the oak pasture to a rock shaped like a footprint.
- La Garganta: a small valley with streams about 2 km away, where your dog can cool off.
- La Cueva de los Moros: a climb into the hills, just over a kilometre south of the village.

A short drive away
- Castro de Ulaca: a climb along a stony path to the Vettonian hill fort; bring water for both of you.
- Castro de Navasangil: a short walk among granite boulders.
In the Sierra de Gredos
The hike from the Plataforma to the Laguna Grande (about 15 km return) is a good outing for dogs used to walking. In the Regional Park dogs must always be under control, and on a lead near livestock and wildlife.
Good habits
- Keep your dog on a lead near cows, sheep and horses: there is livestock in the valley.
- Bring water for your dog: in summer many streams are dry.
- Check for ticks and grass seeds when you get back.
- Pick up after your dog, in the countryside too.
- Pets are not allowed in the swimming pool area.
